Not so sure. Brits go for 14 days mostly, so another $350 is enough to make many think twice.

We always stay on site and a few years ago never hired a car just got cab to go shopping etc. Last few years have had a car from airport or got magical express and picked up car a few days later from Disney car care. We tend not to use a car the first few days just use buses.

However this year have infant twins with us so the thought of getting on and off buses with two babies and two pushchairs is not appealing so picking the car up from CCC the day after arrival. Also doing cruise so will leave at Port Canavarel car park for a quick getaway.

Cabs used to be so cheap, not now. One year we had a taxi driver who took us to Florida Mall picked us up again, took us to outlets then picked us up and waited while we went to Walmart. In those days September was very quiet so paid him a flat fare for the duration. He was happy and we were more than happy.

Cabs might be expensive now but Uber costs buttons in comparison

The extra cost may put some people off from staying onsite or may put a few people off from going altogether, but that's not the question being asked.

Based on this thread and others, the main reasons people choose to pay extra to hire a car (usually more than $350 extra) whilst staying onsite are because of convenience and flexibility. They can choose when and where to travel, they aren't tied to bus timetables, it's easier with a car when you have kids and pushchairs than using Disney transport, easier to explore offsite locations, etc.

Most people who currently hire a car will still want that convenience and flexibility for the same reasons that they currently do. An extra 3% or 4% on the overall cost of their holiday probably won't change that.

Agreed. I really can't see my hubby wanting to rely on Disney transport, nor, more importantly, not have a hire car whilst on holiday.
