Mobile Just the two of us...

Hi all, so we are toying with the idea of going to WDW in August 2020. We like to stay on site (have always stayed in Deluxe with free ddp before). We found last time that there was just way too much food and time spent eating it for us, so this time we’re looking at moderates and free qdsp (if they do it this time). The other change is that there will only be two of us going (both adults).
We booked accommodation etc direct with Disney last time and flew with BA. We would kind of like to try a split resort this time (maybe CBR and POFQ). How easy is it to book and organise if we can get free QSDP (6 days in each hotel)? Also, booking flights independently drove me to distraction and I was sure I didn’t get the best price in the end (like to fly direct as I’m a very nervous flyer). Any tips or advice on getting a good deal and not overpaying for things?
TIA

Unfortunately free dining and split onsite stays don't work. Each stay would be a separate booking, so to get free dining with the second stay, you'd need to buy a second set of tickets, which completely cancels out the value of the free dining.

If you do a split stay you would have to buy two sets of tickets to qualify for the free dining at both resorts. So you’d be paying a fortune you don’t need to. There is no workaround for this many have asked, tried and failed 😂 You could buy tickets for the whole trip and free dining for your first stay then pay for meals when you switch hotels.

Poop. That’s good to know thanks. Back to the drawing board then. I want POFQ, my daughter wants CBR. We’ll have to fight it out. Thank you
