V-room and Premium fast track through security

We went through premium security in Dec and there wasn't much difference in the ques, probably saved 5 mins.
The virgin hols site still only mentions Gatwick as having premium security as standard.

Went through Premium Security (Gatwick) in December, it was a lifesaver. 6am and the queues were a nightmare! We usually pay though.

In my experience at Manchester the normal security queue is faster than the "Priority" queue. NB: Manchester have both a "Priority" and "Fast Track" queue. In the case of Virgin, they only give their Upper Class passengers the priority queue, not fast track.

The problem is that Manchester have a habit of merging the priority & special assistance queues into one when you get to the X-Ray machine. By definition passengers who require special assistance often take longer to be screened & delays soon happen when a pat-down search is needed, as there will only be 1 male & 1 female screener available and you can only be searched by someone of the same gender.

Just to clarify, I am not having a go at any passenger who requires assistance of any kind passing through the airport. The blame lies firmly with Manchester airport for merging a supposed priority queue with another that they know will more than likely take a bit longer to pass through the security process.

I wonder if it got added in as an extra then to your holiday for free . I've still got the transcript somewhere of my webchat with virgin hols about this.
Edit, just had to have a webchat about v room food for my son who has wheat allergy and mentioned the above.
