In 2016 we did the Jersey flights.

Day 1:
Drove from Merseyside to Gatwick
Flew from Gatwick to Jersey. 2 hrs later flew back to Gatwick, then drove to Heathrow.
Day 2:
Flew Heathrow to Miami.
Drove Miami to Orlando.

And i would do it again at £330 each in August for 5 people.

There is nothing wrong with these flights, travel day is still just that whether you are on one flight or three. We have done direct, one stop and two stop and are a family of 2 adults and 6 kids and it really makes no difference as long as you get there! With regards to price we have managed £180 pp Direct in school summer holidays so Direct doesn't have to be a budget breaker!

I would fly indirect if it was worth it financially, my only stipulation would be to not go far out of our way and to clear immigration during stopover.

Right all, I just wanted to convey my heartfelt thanks to you all, after much pontification I jumped in last night and booked;

August 16th man-Heathrow, hearhrow-Miami

September 2nd Miami-Chicago, chicargo-Heathrow, hearhrow-Miami

Flights were £1,720

7 seater mini van £580

Total £2,343 (including credit card fee)

I couldn't be happier with this price, for 17 nights and for me two stops outbound is fine as it it would take us a while to drive to Heathrow any ways.

I really cannot believe Florida is a similar cost to Spain, if you don't believe me check out the cheapest two weeks to a Spanish island in August and it comes to £3,500

Thanks again all
