Mobile Wow, Disney make sooo much from DVC

And we wonder why Disney are going hammer and tongs at DVC and can afford to put on Moonlight Magic events.

It must be phenomenally profitable for them:

1. They are currently selling getting on for $400,000,000 (400 mill) of points a year!
2. The land cost them next to nothing.
3. They are converting hotel rooms, costs even less.
4. A DVC room is an occupied room, come rain or shine, boom or bust. That room's occupants are spending. Recession proof.
5. They run Disney Management Co where all our dues go for management fees. Suspect a healthy profit there I would guess?
6. When a hotel is partly converted, DVC members partly pay for the common areas.

350 to 400 million a year in sales when they already own the land and often infrastructure of the building. Imagine that. Michael Eisner hit gold.

Wish I had a piece of that pie.

YT. As always nail on the head. The expression 'money making machine' leaps to mind.

from what I can see (apart from complaints about increases) the massive majority of people with dvc seem to think its a great thing to have.

first 2 rules of business are please customers and make money (not necessarily in that order).

looks like a win win for them and dvc'ers

I don't think they are many if us in here that aren't DVC that wouldn't like to be DVC and know a holiday (or 2 or 3) is in the bag every year
