Great thread and a brilliant photo Mick. I might try and take one on my visit in September :-) I didn't know the logs had restraints now. Well my last visit was in 1997!

We always go to MK on our first day in Orlando and Splash Mountain is our first ride. I love the little things that Disney put into their rides. It’s so special.

It was also apparently put into development when Eisner and his son toured Imagineering. The Imagineers were showing Eisner some other project when his son spotted a model of Splash Mountain in the workshops and started looking at it. Eisner then came over and the project was pursued further.
