That's what it is essentially, and something we do on most trips.

I'm not sure there's much to "know about it". You start in Mexico or Canada, buy a drink, and then move on to the next country. Rinse and repeat.

It relates to just having a drink in each country of the World Showcase. That’s quite a lot of drinks though (and it definitely affects you more in the heat) so when we do it we just have to get something from each country, be it alcohol, a soft drink or a snack. There’s nothing cool or enjoyable about being absolutely off your face in a Disney park but it is nice to be a bit tipsy and take everything in.

We actually prefer it when it isn’t Food and Wine given the choice. Much quieter and easier to find somewhere just to sit and enjoy the view

I'm a renowned lightweight but did it. A lot of fun if done with a few considerations.

Just to say, the food and wine festival is a greatly expanded version of the World Showcase with stalls and stands serving national food and drink (not just wine) from many countries. Most of the foods can be taken as snack credits on DDP, which means you can eat (not drink!) a number of good smallish plates free.

It's an unofficial thing so Disney don't have any official booklets (though you can get a F&W festival booklet when that's on, I think). You can get them from ebay etc though.

I met up with American friends I got to know on the American Disney chat site, and they were gobsmacked that me, a Scotsman, wasn't up for the challenge...To be honest, I haven't travelled 3000 miles to get blootered at WDW, I can do that back home, lol...Yes I do enjoy a drink at La Cava, but a sociable drink, that's fine by me...And yes, avoid Epcot at the weekend during the F & W ...I had one American dude on a weekend night flinging his arms around me and wishing me a happy new year, nice gesture, but it was October..

It's the highlight of the holiday for my brother and brother in law! They have a plan of action for it before they've organised anything else lol.x
