DMIL travelled on her Esta at Xmas with no problems bit this has me concerned as she is due to travel again in April.
Has anyone else done one since October without realising and been fine when they travelled?

Seen this earlier: application-esta/use-middle-name-or

with the line: "The middle name is not required for the ESTA application. This is not to be confused with multiple first names that appear on your passport."

That's a third party site though, not the official ESTA site, so who knows when that was last updated, especially if this change came about in October.

I need to redo ours and I'm going to upload my passport details so the system can take what it wants to populate the fields. At least that way it should be correct.

that's not what's on the application that I just completed-

It clearly said ALL names as on passport

Whereas later on when putting in parents name is clearly states middle name not required

This is the response I’ve had from CBP this morning.
