Fully agree. I never tip in hotels, its included in the price of the room for it to be refreshed, hence why they will knock money off if you decide to opt out !

People become brainwashed that you have to tip in the states for everything when you dont...

Last trip[ we took maybe max $400 in cash, $200 of which was the kids spending money off the grandparent.

i always take the maximum in cash that the travel insurance will cover. This is completely different to being at home. My theory is if something happens to card payments i'm not without means.

You don't have to tip Uber drivers in cash. You can do it on the app with your credit card on there once you've rated the driver. I did it a couple of times last year when I was particularly impressed with the driver. Same in restaurants. If on site it can be charged to your room with your magic band or just use a credit card as normal.
