Each to their own.
Have to go now to check my Volcanic Ash coverage, my windscreen coverage for my Alamo car and measure the dimensions of my wife's handbag to ensure it complies with Virgins cabin carry on rules!

As has been said in previous threads.. the Government has /is recinding the paper part so its no longer part of your licence it can't be demanded by any one for you to produce it.. It won't exist any more! I think you find that the authorities in the US will know this.

According to the thread posted above, someone contacted Alamo and was told they didn't need to show the counterpart but would need to show the photo card and passport.

I have the old paper only licence and one of the reasons I have not changed is the hassle of still needing a paper bit and of course it costing £20 every 10 years instead of the current nothing until I'm 70.
But come the 1st Jan I'll probably change now as it will be easier in future with just the photo bit only. So next year I will have only been issued with a photo card and no paper and I'm happy I will not have an issue.
As it is , its 'What if' they say my just hanging together by the thinnest thread of paper within the folds is no good as a licence. They always seem scared to open it in case they break it. The look on their faces is always classic
