Can someone please...

... tell my husband he's being silly!
He'd rather pay an extra £103 for a tank of fuel with Virgin Car Hire because he doesn't want the worry of having to find a petrol station when we leave the airport!
I'm pretty sure there are a few around the airport aren't there?

Won't the car have a full tank anyway? Usually the decision is whether you pre pay fuel or not. Meaning you either return it full or empty. So it's filling back up prior to dropping it off you would need to worry about. But yeah there are plenty petrol stations going around.

Of course I could be wrong!

Thats absolutely fine then, not a problem. I just didn't know if they left a bit in and you could pay to have a full tank. Thanks

Cars come with a full tank, you're deciding whether to pay for a tank when you return it as Richard says.

We had the Gold Insurance package before going which gives you a full tank anyway but other than this I would fill it yourself.

Whilst there I only filled up once, $20 took it from empty to about 3/4 so unless you have a huge car, $30 or £20 will usually cover it.

If only petrol was that cheap here.

I doubt your vehicle would take $150 to fill up. That seems an awful lot for fuel.

That's a huge markup! A fuel tank if fuel should only cost about 50 dollars or even less unless you're driving a 50 seater bus!

It is only worth taking the car with a full tank of fuel if you have several drivers as it is normally part of a higher grade package - we used to do it when we had our two sons with us and they were both driving the car so we needed the additional drivers. As mentioned the car will be delivered to you full and you have to return it full. Just be careful when you return the car that you are not caught out by a couple of the garages who do charge an astronomical mark up on petrol. All garages in Florida are legally required to display the price of petrol per gallon and you will find those who are charging an excess amount will not display a price but consider it worth the fine as they make more than the fine. There are several garages near the airport so you will be fine.

click onto orlandgasprices, click map on the tool bar. When the map comes up home into orlando until the gas stations appear with the prices next to them. There are two cheap gas stations by the Florida Mall.
