Abuse of Single riders line
Is it just me that gets really irate about groups of people abusing the single rider line, especially at universal.
I often nip on it (myself) as DD is still too small and the DW doesn't like coasters. But I always see people boasting about going single rider lines as they don't mind being split up, but all the while chatting away with their friend, partner etc in the line. Meanwhile, genuine single riders have people waiting for them or get split up. Last time it got on my nerves a lot, so I'm hoping universal start to police this and if I were them I'd remove them from the line, or make them buy an express pass.

I thought they're allowed to go in single rider lane as long as they're willing to ride alone when they get to the top?

Not sure what your gripe is. We often do single rider as a family but it's the same as 5 people who don't know each other doing the same.

That's what I mean shouldn't the line be for single riders, not groups that are happy to be split.

I don't agree tbh, I don't see the problem with anybody using a srl if they're willing to sit in any empty seat without friends.

Even if it was against the rules, (which I don't think it is), how would they police it? If you are caught talking to the person in line next to you they can kick you out of the line? I don't think this situation will ever change.

I don't really see a problem with a group of people using the single rider line as long as they are happy to be split up.
The single rider line is intended to increase the throughput of rides so that there aren't single seats left empty on rides (so that rides will be running with every single seat filled rather than with say 25% empty seats). This lets more people get on the ride per hour so more people get to experience the ride in general. So as long as people in the single rider line are willing to ride alone then the single rider line is still fulfilling its purpose. (Now, on the other hand, the mother and child I saw in a single rider line who were arguing that they should be able to ride together because the child was too small...)

Nope, nothing wrong with that. The only time it is abused is if people get to the front and then try to insist on sitting together.

That's the whole point of single rider line. I don't understand how groups chatting in line then getting split up to ride could offend you?
