I have decided to skip universal if we book for next year, its just not worth it for effectively really for us, 2 days. When we went in 2010 and I bought our 14 day tickets it was £74!

It will only be 2 or at most 3 days for us too. I'm really struggling to justify paying almost £1000 for 2ad 2ch for a couple of days when it only cost 1300 for 21 days at Disneys 6 parks with memory maker included.

Maybe they will have cheaper 2 or 3 day base tickets we could buy nearer the time. Ugh... its frustrating.

Remember to add £300+ for fast passes! Makes Universal more expensive than Disney with 6 parks!

What is more annoying is that the price increase is not entirely down to Brexit, it's Universal being greedy. We already have our tickets for next year but if we go back to Florida then we certainly will not be going to Universal. Their rides aren't that spectacular.

I've never needed them for Universal, although I go out of season.

I used to be in the mind that Disney was too expensive compared to Universal but lately I am in the other camp, Like you say we will only spend 2 or 3 days in Universal and we have booked a night in a hotel for the express passes as last Easter the queues were so long we only went on one ride one of those days. That makes it even more expensive. I think next time we will either do Disney only and more rest days or do the flex ticket which includes Bush, Seaworld and Aquatica.

Any idea if you can get just a one day ticket that covers both parks and if so what the cost is?
Thanks

$155 adults, $150 children

So you're paying an extra $50 pp for the privilege of park hopping... not good value IMO when you can get 2 day single park tickets for only a few dollars more.

edit: Of course you need park hopping if you want to go on the Hogwarts express...

That's an unbelievable price increase

Last year (2015) I paid £589 for 14 day 2 park ticket for 3ad and 2ch

For next year I am looking about £400 more ! And for what?!

From what I can see, the steep increases have all occurred post Potter! our £74 ticket was bought when exchange rates were about 1.5 and before the opening of the first bit of potter in summer 2010.
