I agree. £125pp (so $150)pp per week for food & transport (even on buses / Uber / Lyft / i-Ride Trolley etc) is just seemingly not going to happen.

I too would be interested to hear how Eloise73's friends got on.

Maybe it was her actually and not “friends” who went. Perhaps she was left with no cash and was detained for vagrancy .

But seriously I hope they managed to get thro their holiday, and enjoyed every minute. Let’s hope we finally get an update.

With the exchange rate even worse now, if this couple have not yet been their situation maybe worse than we thought.

It was a long standing poster and DIBB passholder so not your usual troll type post but I'm sure the advice given will have helped out anyone reading the post and going on a budget

On our holidays (some offsite, some onsite) we've generally spent no more than around £700 for the 3 of us. Less if we're onsite. That's £117 per person per week.

For our offsite stays that money was used to pay for food, transport and any souvenirs. We've never hired a car and we mostly ate out at offsite restaurants each evening. We weren't trying to budget.

Admittedly, one of us was a teenager. And it's been 3 years since we've last been and 5 years since we were offsite. With the exchange rate being what it is now, I'd probably want to take £1000 for the 3 of us if staying offsite (less if staying onsite with free dining).

The OP hasnt been online since late August so perhaps she has things going on? She is a dibber of a long time so I doubt she would have asked advice if not needed.
