No experience but no reason why you couldn’t use the normal methods; postal service, DHL, FedEx etc.
However, I understand it can be very expensive to post items from the US to the UK particularly if you wish to insure it against damage/loss etc. You may also be subject to Customs & Excise import duty plus a handling fee once the goods arrive in the UK. With the poor exchange rate, some goods in the US to post home are no longer a bargain when you take the above into account as well. Alternatively, it may be cheaper to pay the fee for adding the extra luggage (golf clubs) onto your inbound flight. Edited at 11:06 PM. |

I agree with scooby's reply but there is no reason why you can't bring them back with you although you might be charged tax on them. If they are for yourself then why not buy a cheap golf bag (ask in the shop where you buy the clubs and they might give you an old bag that has been exchanged) and bring them back as an extra piece of luggage, BA will charge Ł60 if booked in advance and I think Virgin is about the same.

I have bought golf clubs and single clubs on previous trips. Always brought them home with me as part of my luggage allowance. Never had to pay any extra. The airline tends to pack them along with push chairs etc.Be aware they may not come out on the luggage belt when you arrive home. You can collect them in a area for special items usually where the child car seats and buggy's are.

Hi we have bought clubs on occasions in the past but at that stage the exchange rate was in our favour, these where put in a slim cardboard box at the shop as it is a regular occuramce. With the exchange rate at present there is not the same bargains to be had . We would suggest visit your local pro or golf store and check prices , or online.

you might find that due to the poor exchange rate at the moment that you're not going to be saving much at all for the hassle.
