I know its not much help now but I looked at DIY last year for this summer and car hire for three weeks was averaging around £600 which was over £200 more than the last time we went, we ended up booking it as a Fly Drive and the difference between flight only and fly drive was £450.

Sorry, the prices I quoted are from an offline system I have access to. can't quote them online through my website for some reason. |

Hi, we're going to Florida for 17 days end July/early August but we have only booked a hirecar for 10 days, going through alamobrits. We're staying on-site (OKW) so using the Magical Express to get us there from the airport, then counting arrival day as Day 1, we will pick up the hirecar on Day 3 from the Dolphin Hotel. Day 4 we plan to do a parkrun at Clermont so need a car for that and will use it on Day 5 to get to Discovery Cove, on Day 10 to go to Busch Gardens, on Day 11 to transfer from OKW to Universal's Cabana Bay Resort, on Day 12 to take a trip to the Space Center, then drop off the car in the morning on Day 13 at the Four Points hotel. This means we will have to pay for parking for two nights at Cabana Bay, but not all seven nights, and hubby doesn't have to drive on Day 1 after a 9 hour flight. And we'll have to book a taxi back to the airport on the last day, but that isn't a big deal. It cost us £387 but that includes a sat-nav at £92 (as we don't want arguments about directions to ruin our trip!).

Anybody got a good price for October car hire recently? Looking for people carrier for 16 days, currently coming out at £520, which is £100 more than I have ever paid but am thinking of biting the bullet incase demand increase with Star Wars and shoots price up..

I would get that booked now! Virgin aren't even quoting and Brits wants £2466.96!
