Using virgin miles for car hire

Hi all was wondering if it's possible to use miles and money for just car hire or as it got to be part of a package with virgin.
I have about 18000 miles that expire in October. When going through the online process it let's me select car, deduct the miles and gives me a final balance to pay. When adding credit card details and paying it goes back to payment section without going through.
Spoke with a rep in Debenhams who thinks it might have to book a package but wasn't sure.
Any one booked car hire using Miled and money or does it need to be part of a package?

I have never heard of being able to use Miles, however that maybe because it's not that common so don't take my word as gospel!

Have you tried live chat with VH as that may answer your query.

If it doesn't work don't lose your Miles, just creat an account with their shopping portal, buy one dirt cheap item and your Miles will be valid for another 3 years!

Virgin are miles cheaper for a luxury car for our dates so probably go with them anyway.

I flit between Brits, VA and Andy for my hires.

Some years all with VA, some years all with Brits and this year all 3 of them.

�278 for 7 days hire with virgin for a luxury car I was thinking computer says no and wouldn't let it go through. All the others want over �400. Am the same as you price dictates.
