Chrysler Sebring Cabriolet
Surprised no-ones aded this. 4 of us in the car; me, boss, & 2 juniors. 3 suitcases (one large 2 small.) You cant have the top down when going to/from the airport as theres just no room in the boot for it & the cases. With the top up, we still had to put at least one case inside the car on the back seat. But, what the heck, it was worth it. The sun on your shoulders, or for cooling down after a hard day at disney. And when the top was going down you dont half attract some stares! Car hired from Dollar at Sanford; through Thomas Cook. Cost an extra £200 for the two weeks (original car was an intermediate).

Place you picked the car up from:- Orlando International Airport
Category of car hired:- 4x4 7 Seater Full Size A/C-Dodge Durango or similar. Hire car company used:- Alamo - via USRentacar We actually got a Chevy Tahoe but brought it back as one of the indicator lights was n't working. I had wanted a Durango and thats what we got. It was a bit thirsty but we did clock up over 1500 miles in the three weeks of our holiday. Lots of room - the kids put the second row of seats down and stretched themselves out in the back row. We needed the luggage room on the way back as we had seven big cases tp bring home. Overall a very comfortable drive and a top car.

Place you picked the car up from:- Orlando Airport
Catergory of car hired:- Intermediate but upgraded to full size Make of car you got:- Ford Taurus SEL 2010 model. 3.5 litre Hire car company used:- Dollar Offered an upgrade for a brand new Taurus, similar size to a Mondeo he said! Yea right bigger than any Mondeo I've ever sat in.. Had 2 miles on the clock, Leather seats, Cruise control, the works, fell in love with it and wanted to ship it home with me, even considered giving the parks a miss one day and just go driving, the family said no! Forgot to take pictures of the trunk, but it was massive swallowed three full size cases on arrival and FOUR on the way back plus hand luggage, hand bags etc. And I was called sad for this "taking pictures of an hire car in the car park" David Edited at 09:27 PM. Full Size SUV
Place you picked the car up from:- MCO
Catergory of car hired:- Full size SUV Make of car you got:- Cheverolet Tahoe 5.3L V8 Hire car company used:- Alamo We picked this beauty up from Alamo at MCO. The originally told me it would be a Commander, but the nice kind lady fetched this for me. It was huge! It had 3 rows of seats and would seat 7 comfortably - this left NO room for luggage in this configuration (there were only the 2 of us - we wanted a huge car for furniture etc) An extra bit of useful info - The fuel tank has a capacity of 26 Gallons (in case you want to prepay for fuel) Side View Rear View Front passenger door Drivers Door Drivers console Trunk (rear seats partly down) Picture of me next to it (to show the overall size - I'm 5'7") Edited at 09:38 PM. |

annoyingly I forgot to take a picture, but just to advise I booked the cheapest option with Virgin/Dollar - a two door compact, for pick up at the Grosvenor, and was given a Chrysler PT Cruiser. These aren't as big as the UK versions but they're a lovely car, I really enjoyed driving it. Comfortably fit our family of five - kids 13, 13 and 9, plus two large suitcases and six cabin suitcases. It maybe would be a squeeze if your planning on a trip to the Keys but ideal for around Orlando and a trip to the coast. Cost was £204 for two weeks all in - lady I picked it up from expressed surprise at the rate, saying her insurance alone would have cost more than that... I'm sure its the standard spiel but always nice to hear...

Great for a weekend hire for a bit of fun Will hold 2 adults and 2 kids easily. Not much boot space but who cares Ony available from Avis.

Just thought I'd add a couple fo photos of our car, it was a Chevy Cobalt, the included 'free' car with our flydrive, I think it was Compact and it was from Budget.
I just wanted to show you how many bags we got in the boot - for a small car it had an enormous boot. Even the bellhop commented on how many bags we were able to get in there. I do think it helped enormously that they are mostly softsided bags rather than hard cases. |

here are our hire car pictures. we booked a 7 seater minivan from alamo, at the dolphin hotel and were given a dodge grand caravan, stow and go.
very easy to drive, with lots of storage under the floor, and smaller compartments in the ceiling. it comfortably sat 4 adults and three children, with lots of space around them. the boot was also quite large and easily held all our wedding attire, 2 suitcases and bags.( sorry no pic of full boot)
