Virgin delayed again.

I see it was airborne at 15.52 and due in at 20.33. Not good but at least they are now on their way. Going to be a long day.

I remember one year we were very delayed on our outbound flight. It was 10.30pm before we landed. The lines in immigration were huge as most of the staff had obviously finished and we were so thankful that it wasn't our first trip as at least we knew where we were going in the dark and our kids were a bit older and could cope with being tired but always remember thinking what a horrible introduction to Florida for a first time!

We took off late from Orlando on the V76 ladt night but they did make up time and we were only half an hour late. The reason given was high winds for the morning flight so late arrival

This is one reason, in my opinion, why you should not book an ADR for your first night?
Could be a case of getting to resort and only option being room service if your hungry for some?

Creep it did We finally arrived at 8.48 ish.
We were on this flight and didn't get in until past midnight last night. The Crew spent all day giving 2 very drunk passengers more and more alcohol even though one had refused to serve them and then I complained that it was getting too much with all the young children around. But still, they kept flirting with the staff and weirdly their 'charms' worked. Wasn't impressed with how the staff handled it.
3 planes had landed and so it was another long queue at the airport. The wait was just under 4 hours so I believe we are entitled to some compensation but not sure that makes up for the hellish day. It isn't a great start to the holiday with a8 am BOG reservation lol. We will try and have a short day today and see how we go

What is going on with them at the moment, delayed again yesterday by an hour and a half and still not left this morning, expected to leave about now which is almost an hour late.
Looking at the flight stats website, it hasn’t left on time in over a week, the nearest being a 20 minute delay, the rest all well over an hour and a half?

It could be anything that is delaying the aircraft - ATC, weather, late arrival of the operating aircraft, technical issues, problems at the departure airport

Thanks, I understand that, but we fly a lot and for a scheduled flight to be so frequently delayed is quite unusual, in our experience. I’m wondering who or what is the issue at the moment VA or the airport.
Checking flight departures at MAN as we often do, other flights don’t seem to be so affected.

We flew on the VS15 from Gatwick last Friday 22nd. They had brought a plane down from Manchester as ours had bird damage in the engines. They managed to do all that and we only had a one hour delay. Sometimes delays are unavoidable.
