Directions from MCO please!
Hi,
We are staying at PORFQ in July, with a car, and it will be almost 5 years since we were there. Please can you give us the best directions from MCO? We used to take the north exit and aim for I-4; we’d just put up with the traffic. But with it being so long since we’ve been, we’re not now sure which would be the best route to take? Thanks.

I also use the 417 and then onto the 536 straight into Disney - it’s quite an easy drive to help me ease into things.
ETA - I’m sure one of the US driving veterans will be along soon to give you a better answer, but this is the way I go Edited at 02:03 PM. |

I asked this question in February about going to AKL. Got some great detailed advice. I don’t know how to do links but maybe if you look for my thread - Driving from MCO to AKL. It may help you.

OP. I would do your old route. The Beachline, one toll at $2.50 as the old first toll booth has gone hence the increase in price. Then merge onto the I4 and come off at the junction marked Disney Springs car parking not the one that takes you to the Crossroads. That will take you to the junction where you go straight ahead for OKW or bear left to get to POFQ
The easier route is the 417.

I'd use the Magical Express and hire a car to pick up from the Disney Car Centre the next day when I'm so knackered from my travel day.

That's almost exactly what we do, hire after a couple of days, when we're not tired. It shaves a couple of days off the hire duration, it also allows a smaller car as we're getting one for the people not the people plus all the bags. Freephone from the hotel lobby to book free transport to the car care centre. No selling at the desk. Win all round if you're onsite.
