Car hire advice please * shocked how much *

Hello all

We are all booked up for this July for 3 weeks 16 day sat POFQ and 5 other nights at hard rock flying in at Sanford.

One thing we haven't done is a book a car and to be honest looking around at the prices i'm shocked how much it is for 3 weeks now . Last time we went was in 2015 for 3 weeks and i paid just over £400 for car hire it's now coming in at £600 i could insure my van , sports car and my wife's car for this at home shocked how much it seems to be !

Looking around i can see it getting any cheaper even looking at using Lyft instead of having car .

Thinking the last week as we're at universal won't even us the car and yo have to pay $30 per night to park .

Even toyed with having the car for the first week to go shopping with etc, then dropping it off around buena vista and using Disney transport and Lyft .

Any advice would be great received atm.

Thanks
Scott

The trouble is you are very late booking sadly.

A quick look at Andy and VA and you are talking of £604 and £623 fro a random 3 week Intermediate hire.

What about the 16 nights in Disney with a car, then Uber to Universal and Uber to the airport?

That takes it down to £459 and £507.

Car hire prices are crazy at the moment. It used to be cheaper to book well in advance but recently that doesn’t seem to make any difference. We are trying to book Oct19 and it’s nearly £200 more than what I paid 18months ago... Keep looking daily is all you can do I think... Perhaps reserve with Florida Discount Car Hire, I believe you just ring him if price drops after you booked

I have been looking since October 18 when I booked flights & it hasn’t moved!

Sterling has devalued 20% against the dollar since 2015 - that will account for most of the increase

Sorry I'm not an expert on Ubers and child seats. Legally he doesn't need one I do know that.

I suppose it depends on his size?

I would start working the permutations now with the usual suspects and a mix of dates etc. That will pop something up hopefully
VA
Andy
Netflights
Auto Europe
Uscarhire
Usrentacar
Then dive into Hertz and Avis for their deals.
