My DH works in Germany during the week so this is something he's closely keeping on and hes no closer to working out how it's going to effect him.

No madder than people considering changing direct flights between U.K. And US with British passports... What on earth do people think will happen ? Stranded in Florida ... I've heard of wishful thinking but that's off the scale

It’s if we leave with no deal I’m worried about, not brexit. No one knows what will happen. I imagine if flights to/from europe are grounded there will be massive knock on effects.
I’ve searched and searched and I can’t find any evidence that says we won’t be affected in the event of no deal? My travel insurance won’t even commit to covering it. Obviously if we were leaving with a deal I wouldn’t be concerned at all, but no one, not even the government knows what the effect of no deal will be. |

Why do you think you won’t be OK? You live in the UK you fly to the USA...
Whereas I live and work in the EU... Who do you think should be worried! Edited at 07:56 AM. |

I can understand those travelling to europe being concerned but if you're going direct to USA then what is there to worry about?

Totally understand the uncertainty is worse in your case and my holiday isn’t really important in the scheme of things.
I’m just concerned because I’ve saved really hard for a holiday I’m really excited for (which I’m sure we can all relate to on here) and I’m concerned it will be impacted with events outside of my control. Like I said it’s the knock on effects not the actual flight I think may affect us. I really hope I’m concerned about nothing! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 |

There are very few scenarios where your holiday would be impacted. Would just enjoy.
(Indirect flights via an EU/Schengen airport AND you don't have 6 months on passport AND we leave with no deal - for instance - that is a lot of ANDs...) |

I think the key phrase is
Events outside of your control Of which there are hundreds... ash clouds, strikes, incident at an airport in California, sickness of airline crew, traffic accidents, you getting sick etc etc These are probably more likely than a flight from the U.K. to USA being disrupted by Brexit. When events are outside your control then exactly that, worry about it when and if it happens. I leave my home on Wednesday as an EU citizen and don’t return until end of May as a non EU citizen, technically an illegal immigrant... I’m not worried as there’s nothing I can do |
