The 40th Birthday trip, 3 years early-You fell asleep during Frozen karaoke!?!
Mum woke me up at 6.30 for a shower and a brew, this seems to be our new routine!
We set off to catch the bus for Early Magic Hours at Hollywood Studios. The first bus was full, but there was a cast member with a clipboard and he radioed through for another bus, which arrived within 5 minutes. We went straight to Tower of Terror (mum prefers the one in Paris) and by the time we’d ridden, the wait was 45 minutes. We walked across to Toy Story Land and had some Photo pass pictures taken. Slinky Dog Dash wait was already at 95 minutes and it was still only 8.20! We had a Toy Story Mania Fastpass at 9.15, so hung around until it opened, the area was very busy. I won and, on the way out, we saw the Green Army Men, Woody and Jessie walking past. We stopped off at The Market for a Frozen Non Alcoholic Pina Colada and I swapped our For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration Fastpass to the first showing. We headed across for this and walked straight in. mum informs me that she fell asleep twice, sorry what!?! I mean how do you even fall asleep during Frozen karaoke! We were hungry now, so walked across to Dockside Diner for some food. We both ordered the Loaded Chili-Cheese Nachos served with Guacamole, Pico de Gallo and Sour Cream. Mum had hers with a Minute Maid® Frozen Alcoholic Lemonade with Tito's Handmade Vodka or Bacardi Superior Rum and I had a Kahlúa and Cream Milkshake with Kahlúa and Baileys Irish Cream. We had a look around the shops and then it was time for our Tower of Terror Fastpass. After this, we headed out and onto the Friendship Boat as far as Swan and Dolphin. Epic fail starts here... We couldn’t find the bus stops and nobody else seemed to know where to find them either. After about twenty minutes of wandering around, we found them, right where we started, but had just missed a Disney Springs bus. We took a seat on the benches to wait and that’s where the fun really started! Howling wind and driving rain of biblical proportions! We ended up scrunched up against the shelter walls in our ponchos trying to keep some part of us dry! This went on for a full 30 minutes where we kept wavering between catching a park bus and then catching a resort bus, or just persevering and waiting for a Disney Springs bus. Saying that, there were more Blizzard Beach buses than anywhere else, nobody was getting on them, but we could have done with our swimsuits at the bus stop! Eventually a Disney Springs bus did turn up and we were off! In hindsight, it does always rain when we go to Disney Springs, we should have known. The ordeal was not over yet though, that Disney Springs bus called at Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk before even setting off properly for Disney Springs. It did make us grateful that our buses only go to Kidani Village and Jambo House though! When we finally got to Disney Springs, we went to Sephora, Uniqlo, World of Disney and the Co-Op before heading back to the bus stop. This time we were Grand Floridian bound for our reservation at Grand Floridian Café. Again, we’d just missed a bus, so we had a short wait. When we arrived at the Grand Floridian, a bride was just setting off in a horse and carriage to her wedding. #lifegoals Of course, we checked out the facilities before checking in at Grand Floridian Café. We were seated quite quickly, and mum didn’t hesitate in ordering a Magical Star Cocktail;X-Fusion Organic Mango and Passion Fruit Liqueur, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, and a souvenir Multi-coloured Glow Cube. I ordered a Blue "Glow-tini; Skyy Infusions Citrus Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, Bols Blue Curaçao, and Pineapple Juice with a Sugared Rim and a souvenir Glow Cube. Our server, Sam was from England too, and he brought us bread! You have never seen two more excited people! There were 4 rolls and some honey whipped butter. For mains we both ordered the Sirloin Steak and Scallops; Cheesy Potato Gratin, Asparagus, and Scampi Butter Sauce with Roasted Tomatoes. Mum said this was her best meal so far (I’m still thinking about that Yak and Yeti steak the other night.) For dessert, mum had Florida Key Lime Pie; Baked in a Graham Cracker Tart Shell served with Fresh Strawberries and Sweet Mandarin Sorbet. I had the Chocolate Fondue with Fresh Fruit, Angel Food Cake, and Campfire Marshmallows. Sam had put a candle in one of my marshmallows too. We caught the boat to Magic Kingdom, we’d just missed one, story of the day! Anyway, we didn’t wait long, those Polynesian Villas though, wowser! We caught a bus back to Animal Kingdom Lodge from Magic Kingdom and were overjoyed when the mister dropped us off first! We sat on the balcony for a bit and then watched Field of Dreams before falling asleep after another busy day.
