BA sale?
Know VA usually have a sale starting around Boxing Day but do BA have one to? Our flight dates are due for release next month and don't know whether to book on release day or wait and cross fingers for a sale.

I don't know if they have a sale - probably they do.
However BA had a sale on when my dates were released. I didn't book then as I wanted to wait and see what Virgin & the indirect prices were like. Then during the next BA sale a few months later the price went down to the same price they were initially released at. Flight prices are hard to gauge. I think the best thing to do is book at a price you're happy with and then don't check the prices again! |

Think that's where I'm at at the moment. Got a figure I'm prepared to pay. Trouble is I know what an impatient ###### I can be, so would probably book on release day whatever. Thusly I'm trying to get a grip and some self control lol.

Personally I wouldn't book on release day, often the cheaper seat codes aren't available at that time depending on dates of travel.
They can take advantage of those ultra keen to book. There will be exceptions, but you would have to track the same flights almost weekly for the next 7-8 months to be sure. Always a bit of a gamble but certainly off peak I wouldn't jump in on release day. |

Thank you, that's bit more reassuring as well, as said I'm impatient and excited to get things sorted so probably need reigningin a tad as well.

Fingers crossed for a BA/VA price war! Or at least a sale! We waiting to book as we can't for a few weeks due to DD, but itching to do so. Although I am not sure I can wait till boxing day!

Thank you all for your replies, and for convincing me to be strong and wait. We wanting fly-drive to and from Tampa, Wednesday 22/10 - Saturday 8/11 for 2 adults 4 kiddywinks (13, 11, 6 & 4). By my rough working reckon it will be about £3800 - £3900 on release day so not too bad and would pay that, but think they may come down bit more than that if they have sale
