I'd be aiming for around £600 per person - so £3600
Book in a sale and I'd hope to get £500 pp |

Does this 2 weeks fall during the Easter holidays though as that is usually peak times so the flight prices are more expensive although this price does seem steep.

I paid £2000 for 3 adults and 1 child in March. Don't go fly drive, go flight only and pay separate for car hire. It's as cheap to hire the car yourself as it is pay for the insurance with airline but the price for fly drive is always higher than flight only.

Is it worth it
Hi.
If you go with Thomson at that time you could get a package deal for flights, silver villa for £5750. You could then book a car seperate for around 340. All this with the backing of Thomson and you can fly on dreamliner which has the most comfortable and roomy seats out there. Beleive me flying cheap isnt comfortable. Not even with Virgin. We always book package with thomson and there is always only about 200 odd pund saving to be had if doing it diy. Is it worth it. At least your holiday insurance covers a full package. Just remember the volcano incident on iceland. Hope this helps.

Our last 4 trips it has worked out cheaper to get flydrive with BA in the sale, we are going 6th Nov for 2 weeks and paid £2660 for 4 adults and 2 children with a 7 seater dodge caravan or simular, this includes all insurances and additional driver.

Easter Sunday is 5th April in 2015, so you'd be flying out just inside the hols. That works out £849pp. Does it include the insurance for the car hire too?
Personally, I think that's super expensive - but then Easter is one of the most expensive times to fly. Do I think you can get it cheaper? Probably. Would I place a bet on that? No. lol If you had nerves of steel and were prepared to be constantly searching then you may beat that price. Definitely by going indirect. However, for peak April prices, especially if it includes insurance for the car hire - it's probably a decent-ish price. I've seen people say they've paid over £1000pp for Easter. |
