I don't know whether this helps anyone but there is a designated lady at Virgin customer care centre that specialises in Disney and is their key contact. I did have her name written down from when I was upgrading last month and the lady I spoke to had a query. I'll try and see if I can find it.

How long can it actually take to confirm the details? My patience is running out now and it seems like everyone is being told a different story! I will not be at all happy if we do not get offered the same as disney direct customers or the likes of charter travel etc. You book with a big travel agents thinking you will get good service but it seems like we are being dismissed now 😡

They have told me they should have more information later today.

I'm with CT but haven't been contacted by them but i have emailed Kate at CT. If it wasn't for the Dibb I wouldn't have known any of this. I cant see any reason for a TA not to offer the same as Disney, Disney will be footing the bill not them. Hope you hear something soon.

The problem is Disney are doing it as goodwill gesture for their customers so they could easily say they won't do it for others! I'll seriously look at cancelling if that is the case and stay at a different hotel.

But surely Virgin are Disney's customer too and so should be getting the same deal.

I'm not sure its a goodwill gesture, that's a significant change to what people booked. There is no reason for Disney not to pass the "compensation " if you like, to their agents who then should pass that onto the customer.

We are all booked with Disney, just some through a 3rd party.

I totally agree with you it is a significant change but disney keep playing it down and so if they do the same with Virgin then they might say nothing it being offered for compensation etc.
I suspect I'm just feeling very bitter about it all and just feel like the longer it drags on the less likely we are to get anything offered to us.
I have just spoke with my travel against again and she said Disney have still not confirmed anything to them but they are working hard in the background to get it resolved. Looks like it's still the waiting game.

I have just spoken to Virgin again, they are working on it, but the lady told me that she expects the Virgin customers to be offered the same as people booking direct with Disney, especially the volumes that Virgin book.

Hope that's true. Have to wait and see.

Good luck all
