$500 villa deposit

When you arrive we have to pay a $500 deposit. Can we use a debit card and do you get this back.

Each villa owner approaches this in different ways so check with them. We ask our guests to contact our Management Co, using the free phone in the villa, and giving card details (either credit or debit card) to them. Once the letting has been completed, and cleaning/inspection has been carried out, any costs are charged at that point, with the cardholder being advised beforehand.

As Pete said this is likely to be the security deposit. If you can give credit card details the $500 will not be taken from your card, just pre-authorised so that a portion of that amount can be deducted if needed to cover any damages you may cause during your stay. If there is no damage then no money whatsoever will be taken, nor will anything show up on your credit card statement.
