We've paid £85 per week for our pool heating (this is through the villa owner direct though). Is your quote through a Travel Agent, as they charge massively over the odds for pool heating I believe

Where will you be staying? If the villa has gas heating you will have to more as it costs more than electric but it should guarantee you have a warm pool even if the air temperature is cool.

I would say that was a wee bit on the high side depends on the size of the pool I guess. Ours is larger than the average and we charge £99 per week which is in about the $155/160 mark, about average for a private rental.
It has come up in a lot of threads that tour operator bookings seem to be charging extortionate costs for pool heat. They don't seem to give quotes for this at time of booking which seems strange? We always give quotes with or without and let the guests choose or change their mind later. It may be worth speaking to the villa management when you get there as they may be able to offer it cheaper on the owners behalf. Alison |

I think it's a bit steep even for a gas heater - I charge $180 including tax for mine - although mine is probably a bit on the cheap side for gas at the moment the way gas prices have been shooting up in the US so I think anything around $200 -220 including tax would still be reasonable. I do think $245 a week plus tax is a bit high but travel agents often do mark up the price the owner charges.

If the pool is not used the week before your stay then the heat will need to go on at least 2 days before your arrival and this will be included in the charge.
Most people will want the temperature to be in the high 80's but if you are prepared to accept a lower number you might be able to negotiate a lower charge. |

This is what we paid for pool heat last November and they would of charged $50 a day for gas.
