Thinking of going to see a game in the summer. What do people recommend for parking options or travel to/from the stadium?
We are staying at Rosen Shingle Creek and will have a car. |

I would definitely underline the nature of it being a great day out (with the emphasis on the 'day'). There are lots of peripheral events and activities before the game (think 3-4 hours before) that make it worthwhile, including tailgating, pre-game drinks on Church Street, live music, food trucks and more. One of the main supporters' groups drinks at the Broken Cauldron brewery pre-game, which is only a few blocks west of the stadium on Church Street, and the atmosphere is terrific (and very family-friendly). We tend to park at the Cauldron ($20/car), but there is plenty of semi-organised parking around the stadium, while there is also the (pre-bookable) Geico Garage at the nearby Amway center, which is a 5-min walk away.

Did it in 2015. There are loads of places to park (cost me $20) for a night time game.
It rained. And rained. AND RAINED ... The KO was delayed. Everyone had to leave the stands and get below due to lightning. Game was stopped/started three times for this. In the UK it would have been abandoned! Got fed up and drove back to the villa. Had a shower. Put the TV on ... at 1am ... and watched the end of the game LIVE on TV!

We did it last July. We used uber to and from the broken cauldron tap room.
We’ve just booked tickets for our next trip.

Ah, the famous first-season Rain Game (against Chicago) in the Lions' inaugural season. That one was at the old Citrus Bowl where there was practically no cover for fans and everyone did, indeed, get VERY wet, and the game didn't finish until well gone midnight (after a 7.30 kickoff!). I was covering it for MLS.com in those days and it was a very late finish after all the post-game press conferences, etc. I think I got home about 2.30am!
