can someone explain..

OH and I were talking about going to disney (any disney but mainly WDW) and why we enjoyed going there so much.

And we couldn't find the words to explain it . Maybe that is part of the magic - who knows !

So my question to you is "what makes WDW special to you". We know there are cheaper places you can go for a holiday but what makes us dibbers want to keep going back?

Remember there are no "?one size fits all" answers here - just your opinions

I really should hate it - dont like rollercosters and always complain when it gets too hot. I am also lazy - dont like walking too long. And in the heat I suffer frequently from prickly heat rash. With me being overweight my tighs will rub together if I wear a skirt and if I wear too short shorts they will ride up between the tighs.

So there must be something seriously wrong with me as we go back every 2nd year in August...and I love (nearly) every minute of it. I think its mainly because I see how much my kids love it and my 15 yr old despite having been some 10 times (we went more frequently before when it was cheaper) he is still saying I cannot wait to go to Florida mum.

I get most of this (I don't have the skirt problem!). I think for me I love the atmosphere of the place and I love people watching. OH said it's about being a carefree kid again- which I also understand

Well, Im in th minority. Whilst I really do love Disney, its not somewhere I could go back to every year. However, Ive been upteen times to Florida, California and four times to DLP.

What draw me back is usually family changes. We went when the children were younger , then as they grew they wanted to go back. I took my mother when she was 66 she liked it so much we went back again for the following four years also went with my niece aged four , a girls week away with friends from work and now Im going with my grandson.

When I went with mum four years in a row, if Im very honest by year four I was a bit... yeah is POR ride. Whoop whoop .

I love going back periodically, I would also love to go with my husband stay at SSP but hes not so keen

So after a long warble. Its family and friends that draw me back as I love the look on their faces when they see things for the first time, and whenever you go with someone new its a new experience.

What your husband said... I can dance like no one is watching.

I dont find it particularly special. My other holidays are usually more expensive, more adventurous and involve more planning. I like Orlando because it is so easy and a lot of fun.

I'm kid free (by choice), but love that I can be in touch with my inner child in Orlando and it's totally fine as so is everyone else!

You can suspend reality for the time you are there, and forget the outside world and it's stresses.

# arrested development!

For me it's just that feeling that anything could happen, day to day life is drab and predictable but in WDW you could be family of the day, you could get waved round for another go on the ride, you could get a pretzel "on the mouse", your little one could be pulled to the front of the line by Donald himself just cuz she's wearing a shirt with him on, you could go back to the room and find mouse keeping have made a little towel boat for your plushies. Even in DLP we've had some fabulous pixie dust, I've waltzed with Goofy around cafe Mickey 🤣

I'm totally with you... it is easy and fun

For us, it is hot and plenty to do, no need to "find" things to do on holiday - it is all there.

But to me it is not that special, it is an expensive holiday after a long uncomfortable flight - nice, and very enjoyable whilst I am there - like pretty much all holidays we have been on. (I do not travel well)
