Help please: overnight stay at universal hotel.

Would love to stay at a universal hotel, would love to give it a try as a treat for the family.
Is there a cheaper way/hotel that’s very nearby to get the perks of the park.
Thanks for your help and info.

If there is a cheaper way I never found it. Though I have to say we did get our money’s worth out of our one night! Obviously there’s the two whole days of fast pass which is awesome. But we also upgraded to club level and had breakfast in the club room on arrival. Came back that evening for drinks and nibbles, and had breakfast the following day along with drinks and nibbles in the evening before driving home. We didn’t do lunch time but could have done it both days if we wanted.
Obviously these things are only good value if you get a decent price. I think our club upgrade was an extra £50 on top of the room? I figured we’d probably spend that on two days breakfast anyway, so was happy to pay it. It’s all about the fast pass for me though. I have now been spoiled and can’t imagine going in the regular queue again 🤣

Yes that’s why I’m trying to do this, it would make a lovely change. So was your stay at the hard rock?

Do you have any Avios points or Tesco clubcard vouchers? You can use clubcard vouchers to book via hotels.com and get three times the value of your vouchers towards a booking. The vouchers can only be used to cover the room rate, you have to pay the tax amount using your debit or credit card. You can also pay in full or part pay with Avios points through BA. Other than that just shop around to see who is offering the best deal. I’ve booked RPR using clubcard vouchers so that we get express passes as we’re going in July.

We did one night at the hard rock in 2016 and loved it so went back for 9 nights the year after. We are going again this year for 7 nights. As someone else mentioned using tesco clubcard vouchers is a brilliant way of bringing the cost down.

Yea I think I have a few Tesco points, might have enough for 1 room. The others can sleep in a tent outside
Is it easy to follow the steps to get the rooms this way?
Thanks

Just don’t put their tent near water in case the alligators get hungry.

Yes it is quite easy, well I managed it so it must be. Here’s a link to the clubcard page secure.tesco/clubcard/bo.../UK-009591.prd for the hotels. Once you convert the amount of vouchers you need and get the code it was easy enough to follow the steps. Your vouchers don’t need to cover the whole amount, you can part pay if you don’t have enough. Just remember not to include the tax amount when working out how much you need to convert.

Please can I ask if there was a maximum amount you were allowed to pay using clubcard?
