You would have paid £837 for an AP. They gave you £504 credit for your Ultimate, leaving you £332 to pay. Assuming you paid £415 for your Ultimate, you saved around £90. Bargain!

I think! Please correct me if I've got the maths wrong!

Sounds good.
The Platinum Annual pass is $894 before tax ($952 with tax). They didn’t say it was the Platinum Plus.

So, $894 - 420 = $474. Which is about £375. That’s how much they valued the 21 day Ultimate.

Assuming they paid £415 for the 21 day Ultimate then it would cost an extra £40.

I looked at the maths slightly differently, although I did think the same as you that they didn't say the Platinum Plus Pass. I could be wrong on both counts though.

The Platinum Pass cost $952.11 including tax. So $952.11 - $420 = $532.11, roughly £421. Disney are selling the 21 Day Ultimate for £415 on their site, so they're not that far off.

Yeah, I’m not sure whether the amount quoted included tax or not. I cheekily assumed the worst.

Sorry, got my threads mixed up with some who had upgraded to an AP with water parks!

Looking to upgrade our 14 day Ultimate tickets to Gold AP’s. I like the $27 upgrade price but I doubt we’ll get that lucky! So annoying that the upgrade pricing is so inconsistent.

That's ok. As lyn1 says above, it looks like the quoted cost to upgrade is is roughly as expected assuming it's the AP without waterparks.

**EDIT**
Assumed it was for Platinum Plus, which may be incorrect. See further on this thread for Platinum calculations.
Platinum Pass without water parks and the $420 included tax.

We are thinking about upgrading in October this year as we are going in May next year.
I’ve never done this before so I’m curious when you are all discussing shopping around for a better price. Where do we shop around as surely it would be the same price regardless of wherever in Disney we did the upgrade?

You would think but unfortunately that’s not the case. I think people have had the most success with pricing at Disney Springs from what I’ve read.
