Independence Day

We fly into Los Angeles on the 1st July. Only just realised it will be our first ever time we willl be there for Independence Day. So far we have not planned anything so could base trip around this day. So thoughts areas can be either be in Los Angeles or San Diego. How or where should we spend this day as I�m sure most places will be ultr busy. I look forward to your suggestions.

Sorry I'm no help but also interested in people's opinions as we'll be in LA for 4th July too!

No help here either but we will be in San Diego and are planning on watching the fireworks on the bay as I believe people go to Shelter Island to see them and that is where our hotel is located. Not sure what we will do during the day as I believe driving and parking might be difficult if we go out and try to come back to the hotel?
