Ah poor boy!
 Thoughts are with you. lots of love and hugs. We had to have our 12year old Staffie put to sleep in September the day we were travelling to our overnight stay before Florida holiday. Heart breaking Miss him so much. He was my companion in my retirement.1st December we got our pup blue Staffie. As you say house felt empty. I'd forgotten how energetic pups are!

So sorry to hear of your loss, it really is so hard saying goodbye to our fur babies. Eighteen months ago, we also had to make the decision and her ashes are still in my dining room, in a beautiful carved wooden box. I am not ready to let her go yet ... I cried on and off for a whole weekend, it was just so upsetting.
We only lasted four months before we got our new pup as the house was just far too eerily quiet, and I didn’t want to come home from work. You have made the right decision for him, god bless him.

So sorry for your loss. They are such a huge part of our lives and leave a huge gap. I understand what you are feeling as we had to say goodbye to our 14 year old cocker spaniel 3 weeks ago tomorrow. It was heartbreaking even though it was the best decision for him. The house is so quiet without him snoring/snuffing or his paws on the wooden floors. They bring so much joy. We are taking comfort in our happy memories and have written down our memories of Toby's quirky ways which I will use to make a memory/photo book. Take care of yourself and hope your headache feels better ❤️❤️
