How congested does the i4 get...

It gets so hideous further east, north of the 192.
Is it as bad further "down" ?

Yes it gets really bad down towards Championsgate 😨

We always find it really busy like others say around the 192 entrance and past Disney. It always seems to clear once you go past the big blue gift shop.

Absolutely hate the i4, always gridlocked when we used it last year! Took us 90 mins to get from French Qtr to Aylesbury in Davenport in October, weather was fine and it wasn't rush hour! Drives me mad.

We come off the 192 and go down old lake wilson rd.
But yes very busy, think m25 rush hour

Plus side to no tourists right now is lovely free flowing roads!

I've read on WFTV recently that DeSantis announced the opening of new ramps in Downtown much earlier than planned which is a great benefit to commuters I guess but we have no reason to venture up there.

The stretch between Champions Gate and World Drive eastbound is stationary any time of day.

Along with the exits round Disney exit 58 for Championsgate has got considerably worse over the years but improvements on this junction are estimated to start next Spring hopefully lessening the congestion. There are several improvements listed for this road i4beyond/project-info-map/#

However for someone who has to frequently deal with driving round the M25 we still prefer driving the I4 to M25 especially near the Dartford crossing.

When we next visit Winter Park to go on the scenic lake ride we're going to drive to Poinciana (our nearest station) and catch the Sunrail train. WP station is in town centre and a 10 minute walk to the lake.

Some ridiculous fare like $5.50 return for two seniors. What's not to like about a nice 50 minute train ride on the upper deck that also avoids I-4 in downtown?
