Dunster Somerset. Camping
DH has seen an Adults only site between Dunster and Dulverton, any information on the area would be most welcome. (We have had all the cracks about Adults only from DS and partner)
TIA

Dunster is lovely. There isn’t a lot to see once you’ve walked up through the town and explored the castle but there are some lovely tea rooms / pubs.
Dunster beach is a really lovely beach. There is nothing there but beach but great for a walk. Minehead isn’t great, best avoided really unless you fancy a more seaside feel. You are right in the exmoor National Park so great walks etc. The train posted earlier in this thread is fun but only goes from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard, there is nothing in BL so do it for the experience rather than going somewhere. I used to live in Taunton so know the area well so let me know if you have any more questions. |

My parents have a couple of holiday cottages in the area. As previously said the castle is a lovely place to explore and the train is a must imo. Some people will say it's boring but it's a lovely relaxing journey with beautiful landscape. Duster beach and Blue Anchor beach are both nice.
Personally I would pop to Minehead for a couple of hours. The high street has a few independent stores and not much else worth looking at, but the harbour area is lovely and you can climb into Exmoor from the seafront for a lovely walk. The Old Ship Aground there is a great pub too! We just love grabbing an ice cream and walking the sea front. If you have a car and are happy to drive a bit, Porlock. Porlock Wier and Selworthy are worth a quick look too. |

Returned yesterday, had a brilliant time. Campsite was perfect. We explored Dunster, Porlock and Weir also Lynton and Lynmouth. The whole area is amazing , we will certainly be going back.
