Taking lightsabers home
Am thinking of finally doing the lightsaber building experience at Galaxy's Edge when we next go.
Has anyone else done this and was it easy to get them back to the UK? If it's split into the 2 parts would it easily fit in checked luggage? If that doesn't work out then it'll be a droid instead, although i'm sure the cat wouldn't approve of that driving around the living room 😂 |

We brought one back in November. The hilt does come off but it was still too big for our case. We flew with Virgin and just carried ours on the flight with us and had no problems. You're given a free carry case for it at the end of the build.

No we didn't pay any extra, just had it as our personal item along with cabin cases. Not sure I'd have been comfortable with it being checked in though, seeing how they throw around cases sometimes. I didn't put ours in the overhead locker - just had it leaning against the window.

I recently watched one of Adam Hatton's vlogs where he did that experience. It looked fantastic! He advised to do it nearer the end of your day as you have to carry it around all day which can be a little awkward. He couldn't fit it in a case so he took it on as hand luggage and didn't have any issues. The staff on board the (Virgin) flight kindly stored it for him in an upright cupboard
