How often do you decorate?

We are currently decorating our sitting room, last done around 6 years ago and probably over due. My sister decorates every couple of years, my mum about every 8 or 9 yrs. It’s such a huge job! Our bedroom was done 3 years ago but is still like new, kitchen was about 8 years ago now.
I wish I could just flick a switch and have it all done!

I just started my sons room. I’ve been wallpapering today for the first time ever lol. It’s only lining paper so still got to paint over it.

As for how long...he’s 17 next month and still has Elmo and Thomas the tank engine painted on his walls from when we first moved here 10 years ago lol

I might give the paint in the living room/dining room a touch up every couple of years but it’s still the same theme. We have wallpaper in the alcove that we put up when we moved in which would have been 2008. I wouldn’t mind changing the colour scheme but then I’d need a new sofa... curtain.. carpet... 🤔 And all of that would eat into my Florida fund so brown/beige is what it will be for a while! 😂

Depends when it needs doing. Lounge gets done most often but our 2nd lounge and our bedroom were done 16 years ago! Think most of the other rooms were done within the last 2 years. Might redo our bedroom over the summer but the 2nd lounge needs a total refurb so will wait till we have the money.

As needed. We moved in nearly 12 yrs ago and done every room once, but master bedroom just been redone. Hall, landing needs doing. As does all gloss work but can't afford at present.

The wallpaper will be up for about 3 years but the paintwork will be freshened up every year. Husband is a decorator though.

We’ve been here 17 years. Most rooms are on their third colour scheme so I’d say every 5-6 years although it feels like I’m always decorating! We’ve just had a new kitchen and utility room so those needed painting. I’ve done one daughter's room this year and I’ll be starting on another when I’ve recovered from doing the kitchen. I’d say I do one room each year.

I’ve lived here almost 5 years and having a decorator in a few weeks to do whole house. The rooms are ready for it so I’d aim for very 4-5 yEars again

My dh gets the paint out at Christmas, because he does a lot of painting in his job he often gives the downstairs a freshen up and the hallway. Bedrooms when I get sick of looking at it, we gave our bedroom and dds bedroom a makeover in 2016 after Florida. We did beach theme, boys don’t care as long as there’s a bed, tv and a ps 4!
