Mobile Poncho - pack down size

I've just tried on my (fetching) poncho from Flying Tiger and packed it away again - it is now enormous and fills my bumbag. Are all ponchos like that? We are going in July so need to prepare for rain. What do others do? I want to avoid the thin disposal ones (have tried before and not worked for us).

Buy a small back pack, bum bags are not for reusable ponchos, unless you are good at origami.

I got a Minnie mouse bum bag for going, wore it on day 1 for animal kingdom with a pair of coloured shorts and with the heat and the bum bag ended up with a not so nice sweat patch around the bum bag on my shorts, didn't wear the bum bag again :-(

Is it a plastic poncho or fabric.

It’s quite hard to refold a poncho but it’s not impossible. Easier with two people sort of like folding a sheet. Pull it out straight and fold it very neatly.

The last time we went we each had a poncho in a key ring pouch which we attached to belt loops. Then I bought a fold up ruck sack that fitted in back pocket. If it rained we then used rucksack to store them. Once back at villa I dried them out and was able to fold back into their pouches... I’m a guide 🤣🤣🤣 my reason is I wanted to miss out the bag check line
Poncho

Rucksack

Combat shorts, never had a problem flat packing the ponchos n putting one either side in the shorts pockets. Take a couple of freezer bags to pack them in when wet then slip them in your pockets - simples!

We also keep them in a freezer bag, put it in, sit on the bag and seal it, ends up like it’s vacuum packed and doesn’t take much space.
