Have you done a last minute DLP trip? Tips?

Hey Dibbers

Returned from WDW in December and missing it so much. We've got some holiday time this next week for half term, Thursday to Sunday. Toying with the idea of a spur of the moment DLP trip for the four of us.

Have you done this before? Have you driven from London to Paris before? Do you know of any nearby cheap hotels?

Grateful for all your advice

We have done last minute a few years back - talked about it Thursday night, booked Eurostar Friday morning and travelled Friday afternoon! Stayed at hotel Elysee which was so easy, one stop on the RER and five minutes. Would normally stay onsite but it was too expensive last minute.

It depends on your definition of last minute. As Gill said we did it really last min. We have not driven but if you do book last min Eurostar you are most likely to have to change at Lille rather than get the direct train.

Or get the Paris train to Gare du Nord - often cheaper and runs more often. It is then 45 min on the RER train to DLP.

Eurostar is a breeze, no need to drive. And plenty of offsite places to stay cheaply. Adagio, Ibis, Hipark are all near Val d’Europe shopping centre so there is a big supermarket to keep costs down. For 4 days you might as well get annual passes for DLP.

Have a look at LastMinute.com.
We did a spur of the moment trip in the autumn when I realised earlier in the week that DD had two inset days before a weekend. Eurostar booked direct was £££ but a package on the direct train with off-site hotel with LastMinute.com was very reasonable.
Booked park tickets online with one of the attraction ticket websites.

Stayed at the Hipark Adagio Serris Val Europe.
It has a free shuttle bus but is also walkable.
