Check-in room options

Staying at AKL in May and just looking at the on line check in process in MDE. Appears you can specify one of three room options: highest floor, upper floor or lobby area. Not much of a choice!

Anyone recommend the lobby area Savannah rooms or are views not so good? Or,

Are there favourite Dibb areas in the hotel which I can request by other means?

Your thoughts much appreciated.

Hi. I sent a fax (yes, they still use them) to AKL for our trip last Sept. I asked if we could have one of about six rooms I listed and we got the first one on the list. Super views of the savannah!

Thanks for this - really helpful. Out of interest which area (trail!) did you go for.

I forget the trail name, but it was room 3571. We had a high floor which had a water pool for the animals right outside. We had giraffes, zebras and many other animals every day. It's not close to reception, but that suited us as we wanted a quiet room.

This was our view.
