Where to find a local cleaner rather than an agency

I have just started a new job and the boss (private landlord) wants me to find an independent cleaner to clean his properties. I have placed an advert on care.com, sent around 40 messages, had two replies and arranged two interviews, neither turned up . I have tried looking on Gumtree, facebook and Google, but can't find anyone. He is adamant he doesn't want to ask an agency as he currently has an agency doing the cleaning, but most are foreign and aren't particularly good.
Any ideas as to where else I can look?
Than you

This is like trying to find private carers - all the good and reliable ones are already fully booked
My mom had a private cleaner who was forever turning down new work because she couldn't fit it in and her current clients kept recommending her to their friends
I think you might have to try somebody new at the job and see if they are any good - if they are then you are in their books early! Or ask around for personal recommendations but those people probably aren't available

Just to say I am surprised by your comment that ‘most are foreign and not particularly good’. My daughter has amazing Polish cleaners that are absolutely fantastic they work hard and fast.

I know everyone whatever race, creed, background are different.

Maybe you don’t need to look elsewhere just have more input into the standards you want with the ones you have?

I do cleaning, a lot of people advertise on facebook. There's so many cleaners out there, but it's finding the right one you can trust.

I guess the OP means " they are foreign and they are not very good" and not "they are not very good because they are foreign ". I suspect the agency that employs them has low standards and the "foreign " cleaners who are good soon leave to work for a better agency. I know because I've seen this happen with the agency that contracts for our cleaning. Anybody who is any good doesn't stay with them for long

Also, I think it's important to note that this is why the OP's boss doesn't want an agency, not the OP's opinion.
