Hi, sorry to interrupt your thread but we have booked with Charter travel and had all the details but no ref no: for Virgin. I have requested it but was told it was too soon after booking and would be a bit longer. How long after booking did you get yours? Good luck with your seats.

Have you tried contacting VA Special Assistance? My ds is autistic and they were very good at accommodating our needs in terms of seating. They may not be able to sit you all together, however will most likely be able to do something.

What about asking virgin if you can change onto another flight that has availability? I know from Manchester there are often 2 flights a day and I’m sure it’s the same at Gatwick. The other flight may be able to sit you altogether. Virgin have done this for us before with no charge.

We have booked (by mistake) Virgin lite through the Delta sale. I spoke to Delta and Virgin and they said they would try andseat us together but no guarantees so I have paid to book the seats LHR - JFK return but leaving it to chance for the JFK - Tampa as its 2 hrs. Haven't told DH I have paid, did it months ago on my credit card, and all paid now so what he doesn't know etc

When I say by mistake it's because when I booked on Expedia it said seats and bags included so I paid then small print said check with airline. A bit annoyed but you learn by your mistakes.

Ask Charter Travel if they can book your seats. They did ours before we got the booking reference for Virgin. (Once we did I obviously checked the seats were allocated on their system, which they were.)

Thank you Sterpip, I will phone them on Monday, I don't know why they can't give it to me as if you book direct with Virgin you get it straight away.

I think the problem is so many people now book their flights concerning school holidays as soon as they are released, as said see if there is another flight where you can all be together

My recommendation based on your description of your party is to phone VA special assistance who in my experience are a pretty helpful bunch.
