We had a lovely meal at A Travessa a couple of years ago. The Pasteis de Belem (from the bakery in Belem) are to die for.

Have a look at Rick Steins Long Weekend programme on Lisbon. It features a covered market which I'd like a massive food court. I think it's called Time Out. We went there a few times. We also went to a Fado place where the food was rustic and entertainment was ... Erm... Not very uplifting. Pastis de Belem is an essential visit! Also on the Rick Stein programme.

As mentioned above you need to try the Pastis De Belem, they really are worth going to the original place to try them.

We had a fantastic meal here. The people where brilliant and the tapas sampling menu delicious with lots of choice and food that just kept coming. The desserts you must leave room for, wine really good and a few free drinks thrown in too. Would defineltey recommend it.
