If you are on Twitter they will book them for you if you ask on there. I did this for my friend last year and they booked his seats for free.

So I got through on the phone and there are no free seats left!
Not paying £39.99 each so will take our chance at check in 😳

Check on the flight with Expedia, go to the aer lingus flight and view seat map. I had booked direct from Dublin, paid the smart fee(allowing me to choose seats) but when I went in to book there were only 8 random seats around the plane, others I would have to choose. So every morning before work and evening before bed I checked the Expedia site until some seats freed up, then I went on to choose seats. We are all sitting together now both ways.
