This isn't gambling though, it's working a system and is risk free as long as you follow the process. I've stopped and started without any problem as the amount I do depends on how much time I have to put in to it. The majority of my bets actually lose at the bookies, so they're still making money from me, as they probably do with most matched bettors. If anything, it's shown me what an awful real bettor I would be as I rarely chose a winner

Thanks lovestoplan, I definitely feel I need to look into it more.
I can’t understand how the bookies are letting this run though as they don’t like to lose, unless as said they’re hoping to make more in the long run by pulling people in!

I’ve done MB before but I got totally confused after a while - how do you do it once you’re no longer a new customer and don’t get the ‘bet 10 get 30 free’ offers?

They generally don't lose though. The majority of my bets lose at the bookies, and win at the exchange, so they still make money. If anything, it puts my off normally betting advice know if be dreadful at it! I don't know any other matched bettors who've switched to normal betting either. This way is guaranteed and risk free. I never feel upset or sick if my bet loses like I would with a normal bet, as I know I've won it at the exchange, and exchanges don't care what you bet on or how often as they're completely different set ups. If anything, I want my bookie bets to lose.

It's been around for years, and has even been written about in the Guardian. It's a system that people have discovered to exploit bookies offers, but that doesn't necessarily mean taking money from them. Some bookies will ban or limit your account (called gubbing) if they think you're doing too many offers, but with 100s of bookies out there, there are still plenty of offers to go around

You sign up to a matched betting service to learn techniques of different offers, and see the calender of daily offers at all the bookies that are available to anyone. Sign up offers are just the start.

It's not gambling though, it's just following a process and accumulating a series of relatively small wins, all but risk free, which compound to a decent sum if you keep working the process.

I've been a gambler for most of my life - it's something that's always been in my blood. I've properly bet, and lost, amounts of money that could pay for a Florida family holiday on a single horse race. I've bet thousands of pounds on red and black roulette bets in casinos as part of a night out.

I don't bet any more, but I was happy to follow MB principles and was never tempted to return to proper punting. It is a complete different discipline.

They don't let this run. They put these promotions and offers on as means of acquiring new customers and trying to retain the ones they have. However, if you are detected as just playing the offers, the bookies will either stop you taking their offers any more, restrict you to tiny bets, or just close your account.

The trick is to try and stay under the radar for as long as possible so you are not detected and don't lose access to accounts. There are a LOT of bookies, but there are some key ones that you'd like to retain the use of.

Most bookies, and certainly the big well-known ones, have offers on all the time that either guarantee a free bet or may trigger a free bet if a certain thing happens. You play these to get the free bets which you then convert to cash in the conventional MB way.

If you join a MB service, they will list all the offers for any given day and advise on how best to play them.

It isn't gambling so I don't feel the need to stop, I make money so I am happy with that.

Read up on one of the matched betting sites, Profit Squad/Profit Accumulator/Odds Monkey are a few to look at. The other thread is to help you once you've started, I wouldn't expect anyone to read it and understand how to do matched betting. Go over to the other thread to get help as we use that one to put information on about any offers, also to help out anyone.
