pre ordering a mobile phone on a contract

So I was hoping to get my shiny new Samsung today which I pre-ordered about 3 weeks ago. Even as recently as 24 hours ago I was told that it was due to be delivered today.

This all changed early this morning saying that due to demand they would not be able to meet the delivery date

But what really made me see red was the fact that I got an email this morning saying that the mobile was available to purchase now. It made me see red ! I know alot of other retailers are guilty of this as well.

Just curious to know if anyone else has ever had this issue with one of the major mobile companies ?

The challenge I have with it being late is that next week I will not be able to accept delivery as easily as I could have done this week.
