I can still smell the salt breeze on FOP. The breathing banshee. Wow! Just wow!

soarin is great and one of my favourite rides... I came off thinking ‘that was so cool!’, FOP made me ‘whoop’ throughout and I came off completely exhilarated. I purposely won’t watch a pov YouTube in the hopes I can feel that amazement again when we go next year

I hate POV for that very reason. Ruins the magic I think.
FOP for me too. But enjoy Soarin for what it is ( centre front as said above) if you wish to avoid bananeiffel. |

I didn’t particularly enjoy the avatar film but loved the ride. It’s way better than soarin, I don’t think you can really compare them.

We rode it for the first (and second) time in 2017 and I was almost in tears. Like you I avoided YouTube videos and when we went last year we had 3 FP and each time felt just as amazing as the second time. I can’t say it was as good as the first as it’s always going to be a different experience riding for the first time.

I hope it’s a lot better than Soarin’ which all my family call Boarin’ - I’ve done it a few times and it just feels like watching a film at the cinema.

Also hoping it's going to be better than Soarin'. Never really quite got the hype about Soarin', even after the refurb.
FOP will be new to us this summer, will be interesting to compare

Soarin was a favourite ride before experiencing FOP. (Wow)
I still prefer the old Soarin version to new one, I really, really dislike the 'bendy' Eiffel Tower and the fact it doesn't take you logically around the world! 😡 FOP is now my favourite ride, left me speechless and had to have a Night Blossom which is also amazing. Am looking forward to taking my family this year to see what they think. 😀 |

You can absolutely compare soarin' to FOP they are essentially using the same format. A large format screen with 4d sensory stimulation in the form of wind, smell and movement.
The only real differences is the 3d and the lifting of the soarin' seats into position rather than fixed banks of seats on 3 different floors. We managed to get 4 or 5 rides on FOP last visit in 2017 and it is far and away superior to soarin' in every way. We sat in several positions and saw no image distortion and the motion of the "banshee" you are seated on connected perfectly (the breathing added a little extra dimension!).
