Galaxy's Edge: Getting to Hollywood Studios

We are staying 2 weeks onsite at POR and a week in a villa, we'll also be hiring a car for the full 3 weeks.
Given the chaos that will be Galaxy's Edge, would you drive to HS or use Disney transport to get there instead? Obviously we would aim to be there as early as possible but just trying to work out what would be best?

I'd use the buses as I think that queues for the car parks could be horrendous. We're at CBR so hoping to use the Skyliner

Where as i would drive, get there mega early.

I would much prefer to be sat in the car park early with the air con on than on a bus, plus when you leave, much prefer to be sat in the car than queuing for a bus and then in possible traffic.

If you plan to get there mega early then, as above, drive there in your car. The buses probably won't be running at 4am or 5am anyway, so driving will be your only option.

If you just plan to get there early-ish, then I'd get the Disney bus. You're more likely to get into the car park that way.

If you don't plan to get there early at all, then I'd skip it for now.

Ah, I hadn't considered that people might want to get there that early. I guess as it's not something we would do, but agree with a car for a very early start.

I don't know what RickT means by "mega early". I assume they mean 6am or earlier for a 8am start (assuming EMH)?

I class getting to the park on a normal morning "early" as being there before rope drop, say 20 mins or so, but with the mass crowds for GE to have half a chance in the couple of months following go live date - i would be there at least 90mins plus before the park opens to try to be nearer the front if not earlier in Sept/October. This will be dependant on the crowd volumes after week 1.

Thanks for the replies, thinking we’ll go with the car and get there at the crack of dawn.
We don’t go until September 11th so I’ll keep an eye on how things go transport wise
