Would I travel to see my son receive recognition , would I travel to see him run a marathon, make a keynote speech . Damn right I would. I'd be happy he wanted me there to share important moments in his life and career ... a first tour of the US is an important milestone so yes. I'd be on the plane .

My husband went Orlando for 3 nights last September to see our daughter, he said he'd do it again. So yeah go for it

if you can afford it then go for it

no different imo form say driving from newcastle to portsmouth, watching the game & driving home again... loads do this every weekend

what band is he in BTW ?

Sorry, for not replying sooner, I kept getting 408 page errors?

Sooooo, developments over the weekend ...

They were in LA for a gig Saturday and got offered another 5 week US tour in September / October so that sort of solves my problem

We normally work together and shadow each other so both of us being off at the same time would have created a problem, now that he is going in September it gives me time to find another staff member to fill in.

Also means I don't need to fly out twice in 2 weeks

Yes, we are immensley proud, to see his greatest dream coming true is unbelievable. They have also been signed up for Download festival in June so I'm definitely going to that one.

Interesting times ...
